Apr. 14th, 2019 04:36 am ★ First Impressions ♚ VISUAL: Ziggy is roughly 6'3" tall, and the first thing people are likely to notice is the fact that his limbs resemble 1940s-era prosthetics, with glowing runes etched into key parts. Aside from that, he's solidly built, but pale lips and dark circles under his eyes give him an ill, almost deathly look. ♚ FASHION: Practical, with armor covering his torso. His right forearm is typically exposed, as well as both knees, and he rarely wears shoes. When in view of civilians who aren't aware of magic, he wears heavy boots, loose pants, long sleeves, and gloves to hide his mechanical looking parts. ♚ DEMEANOUR: Serious and grim. Ziggy gives off the impression of a man who has no time for fun and games and may not have ever had an emotion in his life. However, he seems to soften remarkably when interacting with children and younger teenagers. ♚ SOUND: A mildly deep voice, with stiff pronunciation and very little emotional tone. He has a faint hint of a German accent. Oh, and he makes a metallic clanking sound when he walks on hard floors. ♚ SCENT: Primarily, metal and dead flesh. When he's recently used his elemental runes, he may smell faintly of ozone or smoke. ♚ MENTAL INFORMATION: He's a psychological mess, with willfully repressed memories that may return as flashbacks with the right sort of reminder. He's also under the effect of a compulsion that prevents him from harming himself or abandoning a mission he's agreed to. ♚ MAGICAL INFORMATION: For one thing, he's a rare combination of a Blighted Flame. His innate magic is largely defensive in nature, while his limbs are animated by runes and imbued with the ability to generate fire or electricity. There are other runic objects embedded in his torso and skull, with a complex network of bolstering, analyzing, and compulsion magic. ★ OOC ♚ BACKTAGGING: I'm happy to backtag, as long as anything that might have future repercussions is planned in advance. ♚ FOURTHWALLING: Not applicable for this version because AU. ♚ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Please, he would be so awkward about it. ♚ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Generally unwise, outside of a classroom setting. You're free to try, but he's not a combat instructor for nothing. ♚ RELATIONSHIPS: You can...try. He's a widower who's still carrying the pain of his dead wife and stepson after 70 years, so any sort of romantic relationship would have to be heavily built up and tied into him learning to finally move on from his past. ★ Permissions ♚ OPT OUT: Ziggy's backstory involves suicide, WWII and related horrors, overtones of slavery, and forced conscription. He's also still very much suicidal, held in check only by a magical compulsion. If you would rather avoid any of these subjects in threads with him, please let me know here.
